Christian metal veterans Stryper have released a lyric video for their new song "Ashes To Roses", taken from their upcoming 18th studio album, "Throne Of Thorns", due out on 25 September via Frontiers Music Srl. Frontman Michael Sweet described the track as a departure with a "throwback/classic rock vibe" while still retaining the band's signature sound, calling it a melodic rock ballad aimed at long-time fans who had been requesting one.

The release follows the June unveiling of the album's title track and video. Drummer Robert Sweet and bassist Perry Richardson both spoke of the effort put into the record, with Sweet calling it possibly the band's best yet. The eight-track "Throne Of Thorns" tracklisting includes songs such as "Falling", "Hollywood" and "Carry The Flame", and guitarist Oz Fox praised the finished album and the collective contributions of the band, now 43 years into their career.
