Studio TF1 Set to Launch Medical Drama ‘Dr. Seylan & Cindy’ at Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Le Havre

Variety · 3 hours ago

Studio TF1 is launching its new medical drama "Dr. Seylan & Cindy" at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous industry event in Le Havre, positioning it as a potential breakout hit for the network. The six-episode series pairs a Paris neurosurgeon returning to her late father's rural practice with the irreverent local nurse who ran the clinic alongside him, blending medical procedural cases with comedy set against the French countryside. The show will also compete in the French competition at the Festival de la Fiction de La Rochelle, giving it additional exposure ahead of broadcast.

The series stars Natacha Lindinger as Dr Louise Seylan and Alice Pol as Cindy, and is directed by Cathy Verney and Edouard Deluc, with Verney and Lindinger reuniting 17 years after working together on "Hard". It was filmed in the Drôme area of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, written by Camélia Acef and Mathilde Pol, and produced by Itinéraire Productions with TF1. Studio TF1 executive Camille Dupeuble described it as combining the appeal of a female "Dr. House" with a "Friends"-style comic duo, aiming to deliver a feel-good, one-case-per-episode format.
