Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has addressed the club’s pursuit of Leicester City defender Harry Souttar, confirming that discussions remain ongoing after an initial approach was rejected. The situation matters because Souttar is a priority target for the Blades as they seek to strengthen their defence, while United have also submitted a separate bid for another player.

Souttar previously spent the 2024–25 season on loan at Sheffield United and is valued for his experience, physicality and familiarity with the club. Leicester are understood to be seeking a substantial fee for the Australia international, with reports placing their valuation at around £10 million; any deal will therefore depend on whether the clubs can agree terms.
