Sundance Dark Comedy ‘Run Amok’ Gets North American Deal With Greenwich Entertainment
Greenwich Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to Run Amok, a dark comedy-drama that premiered at Sundance and marks NB Mager’s feature directorial debut. The deal gives the film a planned theatrical release early next year, bringing its politically and emotionally sensitive story about a school community confronting the aftermath of a shooting to a wider audience.
The film follows a teenage girl who creates an elaborate musical about a school shooting that her high school wants to forget, challenging adults whose responses fail to address students’ needs. Its cast includes Alyssa Marvin, Margaret Cho, Elizabeth Marvel, Bill Camp, Molly Ringwald and Patrick Wilson; Greenwich’s Andy Bohn negotiated the agreement with CAA Media Finance.
