Sunn O))) announce 2026 North American tour behind new album

Sunn O))) have announced a fresh North American tour for October and November 2026, following a short spring run across the US. The trek supports their self-titled album, released in April via Sub Pop, marking both their first record since 2019's Pyroclasts and their debut release for the label after signing in 2025.
The drone-metal duo, known for their high-volume live performances, will play 25 dates across the United States and Canada, running from 2 October to 1 November. The tour opens in Louisville, Kentucky, and closes in Vancouver, British Columbia, taking in cities including Boston, Miami, St Louis, Salt Lake City and Joshua Tree along the way.

Sunn O))) are an American experimental metal duo formed in Seattle in the late 1990s by Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson. Their music is often described as drone metal: it uses very slow, sustained and heavily amplified guitar sounds rather than conventional songs with clear verses and choruses.
The group are known for live shows built around extreme volume, low frequencies and a dense stage atmosphere. They have worked with a range of musicians and artists over the years, while retaining a distinctive sound that has influenced experimental rock and heavy music.
Their earlier releases include Monoliths & Dimensions and Pyroclasts, the latter arriving in 2019. Sub Pop is a Seattle-based independent record label with a long association with alternative and underground music.
