Suno brings its gen AI music gunk to iMessage
Suno, the AI music generation company, has launched an iMessage integration allowing iPhone users with its app to create 30-second AI-generated songs directly within their text conversations. The update lets users prompt the tool with text or a voice note, including pasting in a friend's message, and reflects the broader push by generative AI firms to embed their tools into everyday communication apps.
Users access the feature by tapping the plus button in an iMessage chat and selecting Suno, then choosing a genre for the generated audio. Recipients need the Suno app installed themselves to actually hear the resulting clip. Suno has previously faced criticism over allegations that its models were trained on tens of millions of tracks scraped from the internet, reportedly including copyrighted material, without permission from rights holders.
