Nintendo has added a new item to its US online store to mark Super Mario's 40th anniversary: a $100 Nintendo eShop gift card presented in a themed collectible case. The release continues a series of anniversary merchandise from Nintendo, following earlier commemorative pin sets, and gives fans a limited-time way to buy digital funds in celebratory packaging.

The card costs $100 and can be redeemed on a Nintendo Switch via the eShop's "Enter Code" option before adding the funds to the account, granting access to over 1,000 new, classic and indie games. It is a US-only, limited-time release, with no confirmation yet on whether it will reach other regions such as Europe.
