Susan Sarandon and Olivia Colman have joined the cast of *Army of Shadows*, a six-part thriller series created by Ronan Bennett. Filming is under way in Paris and London, with the story depicting how resistance develops in a near-future Britain under authoritarian occupation.

The ensemble also includes Paddy Considine, America Ferrera, Alex Hassell and Kit Harington, while Leila Farzad, Luther Ford and others complete the cast. Lisa Gunning is directing all six episodes for Studiocanal, Two Cities Television and Channel 4, with Studiocanal handling international sales; the series draws on Jean-Pierre Melville’s 1969 film and Joseph Kessel’s novel about the French Resistance.
