Dutch police say they arrested a 24-year-old Amsterdam man on 15 September over suspected links to ShinyHunters, a hacking group associated with attacks on Ticketmaster and Rockstar Games. The arrest came days before the group claimed it had breached the FBI’s website and taken employee data; US authorities describe the suspect as an alleged group leader.

Police and the FBI have not named the man, though Reuters and Krebs on Security identify him as Pepijn van der Stap, who was convicted of data theft and extortion in 2023. ShinyHunters denies he is associated with the group. Dutch police also suspect him of attempting to incite two murders, while the FBI says it is pursuing further leads with partners.
