Suzanne Farwell’s Starry Rom-Com ‘Otherwise Engaged’ Sells Wide Ahead of AFM (Exclusive)

Suzanne Farwell’s romantic comedy Otherwise Engaged has sold to distributors across numerous international territories ahead of the American Film Market. The deals give the film broad global reach before production, while U.S. rights remain with CAA Media Finance.

Jack Whitehall and Zoë Kravitz play a couple whose wedding plans are disrupted when Charlie’s estranged father, played by Colin Firth, arrives and falls for Gabby’s mother, played by Halle Berry. Farwell, a longtime Nancy Meyers collaborator, will direct from a script she co-wrote with Gabriel Mizrahi; filming is due to begin in New York in March 2027. Buyers include Sky in the UK, VVS in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and distributors covering Germany, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia and other regions.
