Switch 2 officially has 5 must-play new games releasing in August 2026
Nintendo has no first-party Switch or Switch 2 releases scheduled for August 2026, but Switch 2 owners will still receive several major third-party games. The month is dominated by ports, remasters and complete editions, including acclaimed role-playing and action games that substantially expand the console’s library.
The five highlighted releases are Big Walk on 4 August, Lies of P: Complete Edition on 5 August, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered on 11 August, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 on 27 August, and Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on 28 August. Lies of P includes the Overture expansion, Elden Ring includes Shadow of the Erdtree, and the Metal Gear collection makes Metal Gear Solid 4 available beyond PlayStation 3 for the first time in 18 years.
