Switch 2 price increase revealed in the UK, and at least Nintendo is being more merciful than Sony and Microsoft were with the PS5 and Xbox Series X
Nintendo has increased the UK price of the Switch 2, adding £30 to the cost of the console. The rise matters because it follows similar mid-generation price increases for Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X, although Nintendo’s increase is smaller in cash terms.
The Switch 2 is now priced at £429.99 in the UK, up from £399.99. By comparison, Sony raised the PS5’s UK price by £50 in 2022, while Microsoft increased the Xbox Series X price by £30 in 2023; Nintendo’s change therefore matches Microsoft’s increase but leaves its new console below the PS5’s current price.
