SwitchBot makes a better fan

The Verge · 2 hours ago

SwitchBot has launched the Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro, a compact portable smart fan that improves on its previous battery-powered circulator model with native Matter-over-Wi-Fi support, stronger airflow and longer battery life. The support means it can connect directly to compatible smart-home systems without a separate SwitchBot Hub, while its portable design targets medium-sized rooms, balconies and camping use.

Priced at $119.99, the fan has a 3,600mAh battery rated for up to 70 hours at low speed or four hours at maximum power, and can run longer from a USB-C power bank. It offers 90-degree continuous horizontal and vertical oscillation, a maximum wind speed of 6.5m/s and a claimed throw distance of 33.5 metres, although its 477 CFM airflow is slightly below the model it replaces. It is initially available only in North America; UK and European versions are due later with a negative-ion generator.

  • SwitchBot’s new portable fan adds direct Matter smart-home support.
  • It claims up to 70 hours of battery life.
  • UK and European availability will follow later.
