The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), the Baltics' only A-list film festival, will mark its 30th anniversary by dedicating a special Baltic Focus strand to cinema from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The initiative, backed by the Estonian Film Institute, National Film Centre of Latvia and Lithuanian Film Centre, aims to showcase the region's growing international profile and its filmmaking talent, following recent successes including Latvia's Oscar-winning "Flow", Estonia's Sundance-winning "Smoke Sauna Sisterhood" and Lithuania's Locarno-winning "Toxic".

The programme, led by new artistic director Triin Tramberg, will spotlight recent Baltic films and co-productions alongside retrospectives of landmark features from each country, and will use the festival's Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, which drew over 800 delegates in 2025, to highlight emerging talent and production incentives, including tax rebates of up to 30% in Lithuania, 40% in Estonia and 50% in Latvia. Industry figures from all three countries welcomed the focus, citing the region's expanding co-production ties and growing recognition on the international festival circuit.
