Taron Egerton stars in Everybody Wants to F*ck Me, the debut feature from writer-director Jonathan Schey, which premiered at TIFF and has been reviewed as a sharp genre hybrid that starts as a London rom-com before curdling into horror-thriller territory. The film follows Adam, a self-styled "nice guy" whose carefully cultivated charm masks a much shallower character, and uses his story to interrogate the gap between how modern men present themselves and how they actually behave once the pretence is no longer required.

The plot turns when Adam, after a seemingly perfect night with a woman named Olivia (Mia McKenna-Bruce), later meets the more guarded Sofia (Jessica Henwick), who sees through his act entirely. A strange encounter at her communal home leaves Adam with no memory of the night and an inexplicable new effect on women around him, which escalates from flattering to frightening as the film pivots into thriller and horror territory.
