Julianne Nicholson has joined the second season of HBO's detective drama "Task", reprising her Emmy-winning role as Lori Ross from "Mare of Easttown". The move officially links the two series, which had previously only been connected through their shared creator and showrunner Brad Ingelsby and their common setting in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia. This turns "Task" Season 2 into an unexpected crossover between the two shows.
It remains unclear how Lori will fit into the plot, which follows Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo) leading a new task force where the line between investigator and target blurs.
