Brandon Sklenar is returning to the Western genre with The Rescue, a new thriller in which he plays a rodeo cowboy searching for his missing daughter alongside his dog. The film marks another prominent role for Sklenar, whose profile has risen through 1923 and recent success in The Housemaid.

The Rescue will be released in cinemas on 29 January 2027 and also stars Josh Duhamel, Tim Blake Nelson and Hassie Harrison. John Fusco wrote the screenplay, while Potsy Ponciroli directed; the article also notes that Sklenar is due to reunite with Taylor Sheridan in the action film F.A.S.T., scheduled for 2027, and that The Housemaid grossed more than $400 million worldwide from a $35 million budget.
