The parody film Scary Movie 6 has become the most-watched movie on Paramount+ in the US, riding a surprisingly strong box office run into streaming success. It arrives just as Taylor Sheridan's spy drama Lioness, which has topped Paramount+ viewing for over a month, nears the end of its third season, positioning the horror-comedy sequel to potentially claim the streamer's overall top spot once Lioness's finale airs.

Directed with the original Wayans brothers (Marlon, Shawn and Keenen Ivory) back on board, Scary Movie 6 spoofs recent horror hits including Smile, Nope, Get Out, The Substance, Sinners and Weapons, drawing a mixed reception from critics and audiences alike. Despite the divided response, it became the first entry in the franchise to pass $200 million at the global box office since the original film 25 years ago, ultimately taking $231 million against a $30 million budget, though it fell short of the original's $277 million haul.
