Paramount has confirmed that Michael Kelly will join the cast of Taylor Sheridan's hit oil drama Landman as a series regular for its third season, stepping in following the death of Jon Hamm's character at the end of Season 1. The casting news comes as part of a strong 2026 for Sheridan, who is also expanding the Yellowstone universe and has new seasons of Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown on the way, though Landman fans face a longer wait than usual for the show's return.

Kelly, who also appears in Sheridan's series Lioness as Byron Westfield, will play William Crockett, described as the head of the world's largest oil management firm and a powerful, money-driven industry titan. His character is expected to fill the void left by Hamm's Monty Miller, who died in Season 1. Landman debuted in late 2024 and returned for Season 2 a year later, but production delays mean Season 3 will not air until 2027, with plot details still under wraps.
