Taylor Swift has announced a new single, “Patient Zero”, due for release on 25 September. The announcement follows a series of promotional changes and clues across her website and social-media accounts, signalling a new phase in her music career.

Her website now offers three CD single editions, each with a different black-themed cover, while her profile images and online wording have also changed. “Patient Zero” is Swift’s second new song this year, following “I Knew It, I Knew You” from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, and comes shortly before she receives the MTV Video Music Awards’ inaugural Artist Director Honors award.
