Taylor Swift Announces “Patient Zero,” New Single Due Friday
Taylor Swift has announced "Patient Zero," a new single set for release on Friday, 25 September. The announcement follows a countdown timer that concluded on 22 September, and Swift teased the track by replacing the letter O with zeros in her social media bios. This marks her first new single since contributing "I Knew It, I Knew You" to the Toy Story 5 soundtrack in collaboration with Jack Antonoff.
Limited CD pre-orders featuring acoustic and piano versions are available for 24 hours via Swift's website. The single may debut at the 2026 MTV VMAs on Sunday, 27 September, where Swift will receive the newly unveiled Artist Director Honor. Her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, is also nominated for Best Album at the ceremony.
