Taylor Swift has been nominated for single of the year at the 2026 CMA Awards for "I Knew It, I Knew You", and marked the news with a playful Instagram Story referencing her country roots. The nomination is notable because it comes over a decade after Swift moved from country music into pop, making it something of a homecoming moment within the genre that launched her career.

The song, released in June as part of the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs chart, giving Swift her 15th US number one single. It also returned her to the top of the country radio chart for the first time in more than ten years. She shares the nomination with co-producer Jack Antonoff and mix engineer Laura Sisk, competing against tracks from Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson and Cody Johnson. The CMA Awards will be broadcast live on ABC and streamed on Disney+ on 18 November, with Swift hinting she may attend.
