Explained simply
The Hollywood Music in Media Awards recognise music written for films, television, video games and other visual media. Their nominations cover songs as well as scores, the instrumental music composed to accompany a production.
Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff are known for writing and producing popular songs, while Ludwig Göransson is a film composer whose work includes orchestral and electronic music. The awards bring together artists and composers working across these fields.
The awards take place before Oscar nominations are announced, so they offer an early look at music being recognised in screen productions. Their categories span different kinds of media, giving a broader picture of music made for visual storytelling.
