Ted Sarandos Insists Netflix “Strategy Is Unchanged” As Execs Are Pressed About Growth

Deadline ·

Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos said the company’s strategy remains unchanged, despite analysts’ questions about slower growth and investors’ concerns. He said international content is performing well, while the US needs better execution, and argued that consistent, high-quality programming remains central to attracting and retaining viewers.

Sarandos said new chief content officer Peter Rice will help improve US performance, and Netflix expects its content slate to strengthen this autumn and next year. The company is focusing on subscriber growth, pricing and advertising, with CFO Spencer Neumann expecting strong revenue growth into 2027; weaker-than-expected advertising guidance contributed to a 6% fall in the shares after trading. Netflix plans 30 theatrical film releases this year while continuing to prioritise streaming.
