A teenager identified as P.M.Y. has dismissed her legal claims against Meta, YouTube, and Snapchat that accused the platforms of deliberately engineering addictive features targeting young users. The dismissal occurred ahead of the trial scheduled for later in the year and represents a reversal in litigation that had been part of a broader wave of cases challenging social media companies on similar grounds.

The teenager had previously reached a settlement with TikTok before deciding to drop the remaining claims against the other three platforms.
