Digital Extremes has wrapped up TennoCon 2026, using its annual fan event to unveil substantial new content for both of its live-service action RPGs, Warframe and Soulframe. The headline reveal was Warframe's long-teased Tau expansion, described by the studio as the biggest shift in the game's 13-year history, alongside a new fable questline for the younger Soulframe featuring fresh weapons, "darkside" powers, mounts and a fishing mini-game.

The Tau expansion adds an entire second solar system to Warframe, continuing the conflict between the Tenno, Albrecht Entradi and the Man in the Wall, and introduces a gloomy cyberpunk hub city called the Forax that mixes open exploration with procedurally generated zones. Also revealed was Brysko, a new gunslinger-style "Chimera" Warframe voiced by Matt Mercer of Critical Role, plus a poker-based card mini-game named Portau. Ahead of Tau's launch later this year, Warframe will receive the Iceblade of Narin story quest, a customisable Orokin Vessel, deluxe versions of Qorvex and Banshee, a gameplay rework, and new Nightwave missions via the Amir's Shockwave update.
