Terminator 2: Judgment Day is returning to cinemas later this year to mark its 35th anniversary, giving audiences a chance to see James Cameron's Oscar-winning 1991 action film on the big screen once more. StudioCanal, Fathom Entertainment and Rialto Pictures are behind the re-release, which will roll out across the United States and internationally between late August and early September.

The screenings will be presented in 4K and RealD 3D, drawn from StudioCanal's 2017 restoration of the film. Widely regarded as the best entry in the six-film franchise, Terminator 2 has taken more than $500 million globally across its various re-releases. Cameron has endorsed the outing, describing the 3D version as the best way to experience a film "made for theaters". The staggered global schedule begins on 27 August in Germany, Latin America and the Czech Republic, reaches US cinemas on 28 August, and arrives in the United Kingdom on 4 September.
