Terrifying moment dentist is shot to death by furious patient whose loose tooth sent him into a murderous rage
Amed de Jesús Preciado Hernández, a 42-year-old dentist in Nogales, Mexico, was shot dead on 15 October by a patient who blamed him for leaving a tooth loose. Mexican investigators say the killing followed several earlier treatments and an angry visit when Hernández was unavailable; the case has drawn attention because the suspect later died in a gun battle with police.
Authorities identified the suspect as Ernesto Rascón, 30, a US citizen from Prescott, Arizona. Security footage reportedly shows him firing through Hernández’s truck windscreen and then at the driver’s side. Officials say Rascón was located in Agua Prieta the following day; during the operation, he wounded two officers before being killed. Investigators said he had a US criminal record including alleged drug-related offences and driving under the influence.
