Tessa Blake’s ‘If I Tell You’ Starring Carol Kane Acquired by Suncatcher Productions for Distribution (EXCLUSIVE)
Suncatcher Productions has acquired theatrical distribution rights to "If I Tell You," the feature directorial debut of Tessa Blake, with the film set for release in cinemas in August. The family drama, adapted from Lisa O'Donnell's novel "Closed Doors," follows a 12-year-old boy piecing together a mystery while grappling with the secrets kept by the adults around him, and marks a notable step for Blake as she moves from adaptation writer to first-time feature director.
The film stars Carol Kane, Etienne Kellici, Allison Miller, Bill Heck, Christopher Jackson and Carmela Zumbado, with Kennedi Butler, McKenzie Hays, Tiegen Fryberger and Zelalem Oestreich rounding out the cast. Previously titled "Boundary Waters," it was adapted for the screen by Jennifer Manocherian and Blake, and is produced by Erin Mae Miller of Ignite Studio alongside Manocherian of Dog Lives Productions, who said they were committed to preserving the novel's "emotional honesty, suspense and humanity" ahead of its nationwide release.
