Texas mom tells police ‘I shot both my kids’ before their bodies are found inside home

Daily Mail ·

A Texas mother has been charged with two counts of capital murder after allegedly shooting her two sons at their home in Waxahachie on Thursday morning. The mother, Colleen Lemmon, 42, reportedly told police "I shot both my kids" when questioned about blood found on her during the incident. The deaths have devastated the family and local community, with the boys' father calling for justice.

Colleen Lemmon allegedly shot Christopher Scott Pitre, 21, and his brother Brian Pitre, 15, both in the head whilst they were in separate bedrooms. Police responded to a 911 call around 4.15am and found Lemmon covered in blood with a gun beside her; she also had non-life-threatening self-inflicted wrist wounds. Lemmon is being held on a $2.5 million bond, and the motive for the shootings remains unclear. The brothers had celebrated Brian's 15th birthday at the lake just three days before the incident, and graveside funerals are scheduled for Friday.
