A 14-year-old student allegedly shot dead his grandparents before attacking Debsirin Nonthaburi School outside Bangkok, where police said he killed at least five teachers and staff. He later shot himself and died, while 23 people were injured; the incident is significant as Thailand’s deadliest mass killing since 2022 and its second school shooting this year.

Police said the teenager fired at least 26 rounds with a gun belonging to his grandfather, with another 34 rounds found. The motive was under investigation, and the school had about 3,100 pupils and 147 teachers in the 2025 academic year. Thailand has a comparatively high level of civilian gun ownership for the region.
