Car Park Capital, a satirical tycoon game in which players transform a green city into a car-dependent wasteland, has secured MicroProse as its publisher and continues development with increasingly outlandish additions. Developer Hilko Janssen of Hilkojj Interactive shows no sign of softening the game's dark comic premise, instead expanding its scope with new mechanics that lean further into the absurdity of car dependency, all while retaining a polished isometric visual style reminiscent of classics like RollerCoaster Tycoon and Constructor.

Recent updates include oil derricks, golf carts, leaking fuel trucks, riot police to suppress environmental protesters, and drive-thru facilities for everything from fast food to Ferris wheels, alongside a beef industry with sausage machines and UFOs to retrieve escaped cattle. Despite the cartoonish exaggeration, Janssen has said the game draws on real history, including 1960s and 70s plans to pave over Amsterdam's canals, and aims to satirise genuine car dependency through details like poorly parked NPCs and policies favouring car-reliant suburban housing over inner-city flats.
