The Princess of Wales attended the world premiere of Tom Cruise's film Digger at the Odeon in Leicester Square on Tuesday. During the event, a minor mishap occurred when Claire Tavernier, chairwoman of the Film and TV Charity, accidentally stepped on the back of Kate's purple gown, causing the princess to briefly lose her footing. Kate recovered gracefully, laughed off the incident, and reassured Ms Tavernier with an empathetic smile, behaviour that was captured on video and widely praised for demonstrating composure and kindness.

The 44-year-old princess wore a flowing Jenny Packham purple gown accessorised with Jimmy Choo shoes and a clutch, and wore jewellery including the Queen Mother's amethyst necklace and diamond and pearl earrings formerly belonging to Princess Diana. Prince William accompanied her on the red carpet in a velvet evening jacket and polished shoes.
