Britain has secured two new entries in the 2027 Guinness World Records, both celebrating the nation's affection for horses. Hugo, a four-year-old shire horse from Towcester, Northamptonshire, has been officially recognised as the tallest horse in the world, while collector Miranda Worby has been named the owner of the largest My Little Pony collection globally. The dual recognition highlights Britain's enduring reputation as a nation of animal lovers and dedicated hobbyists.

Hugo stands 6ft 3in tall, a height confirmed by a vet with his horseshoes removed for accuracy, despite both his parents being of average size. His owners, Brett and Lisa Masters, describe him as a "big softie" who behaves "like an oversized dog". Meanwhile, 43-year-old Miranda Worby has amassed 4,550 My Little Pony items since starting her collection at the age of three, after her parents refused to buy her a real horse. She began tracking down rare, country-specific pieces online in the late 1990s and even moved house in 2018 to accommodate her growing collection, saying the record title means "everything" to her.
