Eric Clapton said he felt Blind Faith, the late-1960s supergroup he formed with Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker and Ric Grech, ended before it had fully developed. The band’s short life mattered because it followed Cream’s break-up and brought together prominent British musicians, yet Clapton became uncomfortable with the expectations surrounding his status as a guitar hero.

Blind Faith released one self-titled album and is best known for songs including ‘Can’t Find My Way Home’ and ‘Had to Cry Today’. Clapton later said the group might have continued for another couple of years, but he disbanded it after tiring of touring and sought different collaborations, including work with John Lennon and Delaney and Bonnie.
