The tribute band The 9075 have revealed they were sworn to "absolute secrecy" after being secretly booked to perform at The 1975 frontman Matty Healy's stag do in Malibu, California, ahead of his wedding to model and musician Gabbriette Bechtel. The surprise was arranged by Healy's brother and best man, Louis, who contacted the Italy-based tribute act two months in advance, with friends, family and even those close to the band kept unaware of the plans so as not to spoil the moment.

The private gig took place at the Aviator Nation Dreamland venue, where The 9075 played a 45-minute set to just 25 guests before Healy joined them on stage to sing 'The Sound' and 'Give Yourself A Try' alongside frontman Carlo. The band went on to spend the evening with Healy's group, later joining them to watch England's World Cup match and attending his wedding rehearsal party at Hollywood's Rainbow Bar & Grill. Manager Matthew Parker described keeping the secret for two months as "the hardest part", but said seeing Healy's reaction on stage made it "worthwhile".
