Bobby Gillespie has named Thin Lizzy’s 1976 album Jailbreak as the greatest album of all time. The Primal Scream frontman praised its blend of hard rock, ballads and stylistic variety, suggesting that its willingness to combine different approaches illustrates why it remains influential.

Gillespie highlighted tracks including ‘The Boys Are Back in Town’ and ‘The Cowboy Song’, and said Jailbreak reached him at an important moment when he was 15. He also credited Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott with bringing a poetic and romantic quality to rock music, while noting that the band found it difficult to reproduce the album’s natural balance on later records.
