Matt Damon has said that he and his friends can quote virtually every line of the 1988 action comedy *Midnight Run*, starring Robert De Niro. The remark highlights the film’s enduring appeal to Damon, who still considers it funny and praises its acting.

Damon said the film became a favourite during his school and university years, and that friends now in their fifties still exchange obscure lines from it by text. He named *Midnight Run* among his five favourite films, alongside other De Niro titles including *Goodfellas* and *The Godfather Part II*.
