Anthony Mackie will appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film, directed by the Russo brothers. The actor has become a major figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since debuting as the Falcon in 2014, most notably leading Captain America: Brave New World, which grossed over $400 million despite mixed critical reviews.

In an interview, Mackie reflected on missing out on a role in Denzel Washington's 2002 film Antwone Fisher early in his career, which he now considers fortunate. He acknowledged he wasn't ready for the opportunity at the time and that the rejection ultimately benefited his trajectory, as he subsequently worked with acclaimed directors and actors in films including The Hurt Locker and The Adjustment Bureau. With 11 projects lined up following Avengers: Doomsday, including more of the Peacock series Twisted Metal and an Apple TV heist thriller with Jamie Dornan, his career shows no signs of slowing.
