The Guardian is inviting readers to share their highlights from the 2026 BBC Proms season ahead of the closing Last Night concert this Saturday. With 86 concerts staged over eight weeks, the festival bills itself as the world's largest classical music event, and the paper's critics are inviting the public to weigh in on standout performances, new commissions and memorable moments from the Royal Albert Hall, regional venues and broadcasts.

Critical favourites this year included the Berlin Philharmonic, John Wilson's Sinfonia of London, and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla with the Oslo Philharmonic, alongside new works such as Turnage's Festen Suite, Thea Musgrave's Bassoon Concerto and Jessie Montgomery's Cello Concerto. Notable rarities included Weber's Oberon making its Proms debut 200 years after its premiere, a 250-strong choir performing Berlioz's Requiem, and a sold-out late-night set from Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
