Twenty startups named for 2026 Startup Battlefield final at Disrupt

TechCrunch ·

Twenty startups have been named to the 2026 Startup Battlefield Top 20 and will compete at TechCrunch Disrupt for a $100,000 prize and the Disrupt Cup. The group spans healthcare, robotics, energy, manufacturing, security and space, with a shared focus on measuring or modelling complex parts of the world so people and machines can make better decisions.

The companies include Longshot Space, which aims to launch cargo into orbit for $50 per kilogram using hydrogen-powered kinetic launchers, and Satlyt, which seeks to turn unused satellite computing capacity into AI data centres. Others are developing miniature human organs, tracking biological signals, detecting wildlife near transport routes, reducing industrial emissions and automating factory work. Each contender will have six minutes on stage to make its case.

  • 20 startups will compete for $100,000 and the Disrupt Cup.
  • The finalists cover fields from miniature organs to space launch.
  • Their shared theme is making complex signals measurable and useful.

Startup Battlefield is a competition run by TechCrunch, a technology news company, as part of its Disrupt event. Startups are young companies trying to develop and sell new products or services; the competition gives them a chance to present their work to an audience and judges.

The 2026 finalists work across fields including healthcare, robotics, energy and space. Their projects range from miniature models of human organs to ways of launching cargo into orbit or using spare computing capacity on satellites.

The companies will each have six minutes to present, competing for a $100,000 prize and the Disrupt Cup. The range of ideas reflects how startups are applying measurement and modelling to help people and machines understand complex systems and make decisions.
