The 7 Best Opening Shots in Marvel Movies, Ranked

Marvel films are often remembered for their climactic battles, but their opening scenes can establish a film’s tone, characters and stakes just as effectively. This ranking highlights seven memorable openings, from an ominous display of a villain’s power to playful introductions that set up a team’s dynamic.

The examples include *X-Men: Days of Future Past*’s Sentinel attack, Baby Groot dancing during a fight in *Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2*, and Thanos overpowering the heroes at the start of *Avengers: Infinity War*. *Iron Man* also begins with Tony Stark travelling through a desert with US soldiers as AC/DC plays; the article argues that these openings stand out for making a strong impression before the main story unfolds.
