Hulu and Disney+ have renewed their Oliver Twist sequel series "The Artful Dodger" for a third and final season, with Thomas Brodie-Sangster set to reprise his role as the titular pickpocket. The Australian-made drama, which follows the character 15 years after the events of Charles Dickens' novel, has become Disney+'s most-viewed Australian original title, prompting the decision to close out the story with one more run.

David Thewlis will return as Fagin and Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox, with filming due to begin in Sydney in the coming months. The production team behind the first two seasons remains largely intact, including executive producers Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner of Sony Pictures Television's Curio Pictures, and BAFTA nominee Andrew Knight leading the writing. Disney Australia and New Zealand executive Kylie Watson-Wheeler credited the renewal to the show's quality, while Porter said the final season would be "even more ambitious, surprising and unpredictable." Seasons one and two are currently streaming on Disney+ worldwide and on Hulu in the US.
