The Batman Part II pushed back to February 2028
“The Batman Part II” has been delayed again and is now scheduled for release on 18 February 2028, nearly six years after the first film opened in March 2022. The announcement matters because it extends the unusually long gap between instalments in a major superhero franchise, while also giving fans their first official glimpse of Robert Pattinson’s return through newly released camera test footage from director Matt Reeves.
The sequel had previously been set for 2 October 2026, then moved to 1 October 2027, before shifting again to 2028 to allow Reeves more post-production time. Reeves co-wrote the screenplay with Mattson Tomlin, while Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch are among the cast, though plot details and character roles remain undisclosed. Warner Bros. also reshuffled other dates, moving J.J. Abrams’ “The Great Beyond” to 1 October 2027 and Sam Esmail’s “Panic Carefully” to 9 April 2027, as the studio adjusts its wider release slate.
