In 1976, the Bellamy Brothers recorded “Let Your Love Flow”, a song that became their first No. 1 hit and launched their career. Its path to the duo began through Neil Diamond’s drummer, who told David Bellamy that Diamond’s roadie Larry E. Williams had written a song that might suit them; the story highlights how an unlikely connection helped create their signature hit.

The brothers recorded it with members of Diamond’s band, completing the session in just two or three takes. The song became an international crossover success, charting on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary and Country charts, and remains central to their touring career. Howard Bellamy says he still cringes at his vocal, which he recorded while ill with flu and a fever; the song also featured in a 2025 Budweiser Super Bowl advert.
