Collider ·

Samsung TV Plus is expanding its free, ad-supported Korean entertainment offering with films, reality television and short-form dramas. The move adds to a catalogue that already includes more than 4,000 hours of Korean film and television, as global streaming services compete for audiences interested in K-content.

The expansion begins on 28 October with weekly “K-Wave Wednesdays” on the Movie Hub channel, starting with the 2024 horror film *Exhuma*, which has a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score. *Iron Squad* season three arrives on the All Action channel on 4 November, while Lezhin Snack short-form dramas are due in December, on-demand in the US and on a dedicated microdrama channel in South Korea.

Explained simply

K-content is a broad term for entertainment made in South Korea, including films, television and short dramas. Its international audience has grown, and streaming services compete to offer Korean titles alongside their other programmes.

Samsung TV Plus is Samsung’s free, ad-supported streaming service, available on supported Samsung televisions and devices. Its channels include Korean films and television, while other services offer Korean titles through subscriptions or other viewing options.

The new additions span several formats: films, reality television and short-form dramas. Their availability will differ by service channel and country, with some titles offered on demand in the US and a dedicated microdrama channel planned for South Korea.
