IGN's ongoing "IGN First" coverage of upcoming vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker has revealed a full quest playthrough, called "Pearly and Precious," which introduces a new creature to the game: a sanzhana, or "pixie". The exclusive gameplay video matters as part of a steady drip of previews building anticipation ahead of the game's release, giving fans a closer look at its magic system and combat before launch.

The quest is shown being completed during daytime, meaning protagonist Coen uses witchcraft rather than his vampiric abilities, including a speed-boosting spell and an offensive curse called Ravenous Flock that summons spectral birds to damage nearby enemies. The footage also features sword combat and looting corpses, and while the errand itself is brief, it sets up what IGN describes as one of the game's more interesting mechanics, with further details on a valuable reward from the pixie promised later in the week. The Blood of Dawnwalker, developed by Rebel Wolves, is due for release on 3 September 2026.
