Bluey is an Australian animated children’s series about a young blue heeler dog and her family. Since it began in 2018, it has followed Bluey and her sister Bingo as they turn everyday play and family life into imaginative games.
The main family members are Bluey’s parents, Bandit and Chilli, who often join in the children’s games. The show is made by Brisbane-based Ludo Studio, with BBC Studios helping to finance, license and distribute it internationally.
Its popularity has made it one of the best-known recent children’s programmes, particularly through Disney+. A cinema film marks a larger step for the franchise, bringing its characters and stories to audiences beyond short television episodes.
