The British crime drama returns for a second season on Paramount+ featuring its established leads in a fresh investigation. The plot centres on detectives pursuing connections between the deaths of young asylum seekers and the discovery of a preserved body concealed within a church wall, coupled with another corpse found in a freezer. One of the protagonists grows suspicious of a former patient she once treated, whilst the professional dynamic between the two leads becomes increasingly strained by personal emotion.

Buccaneer Media produces the series alongside ITV Studios, which holds international distribution rights. The six-episode order was commissioned by Paramount+ for its UK and Ireland service as part of the platform's original drama output. The adaptation draws from Scandinavian author Erik Axl Sund's crime novel, with scripts developed by Milly Thomas, a writer with credits on prestige dramas including The Crown and Sex Education.
