The Daily Show is marking its 30th anniversary with a video compilation of audition tapes from some of its best-known former correspondents, celebrating the comedians who made up what the programme calls its "best f**king news team." The Comedy Central satire show, which has become a launchpad for numerous comedy careers, is using the milestone to look back at how many of its most recognisable faces first appeared on screen.

The clips feature Jordan Klepper, Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Josh Johnson, John Oliver, Samantha Bee, Jessica Williams, Roy Wood Jr., Rob Riggle, Wyatt Cenac, Jason Jones, Ed Helms and Rob Corddry. The Daily Show launched on 22 July 1996 with Craig Kilborn as host before Jon Stewart took over in January 1999 for more than 16 years; Trevor Noah then fronted the programme for over seven years, and Stewart returned to host Monday episodes in 2024, with rotating correspondents anchoring the rest of the week. Other alumni not featured in the clip include Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Hasan Minhaj and Olivia Munn, reflecting the show's long history as a breeding ground for comedic talent.
